CLIP: Your On-Site Partner for Legal Information
Please note: The Community Legal Information Project (CLIP) provides legal information only, not legal advice.
Navigating the legal system can be tough, especially when you're also dealing with challenges like housing insecurity, addiction, or mental health issues. The Community Legal Information Project (CLIP) is here to help.
CLIP is a new and vital initiative by Peace for All Canada, generously sponsored by the Law Foundation of Ontario.
We've developed a cost-effective, adaptive model for delivering high-quality legal information and resources directly to low-income and marginalized individuals in Kitchener-Waterloo. We believe that everyone deserves access to clear, reliable legal information. That's why our dedicated team operates in various community locations, including Supportive Housing of Waterloo and the Social Development Centre.
Our goal is to meet people where they are, literally. Individuals who use these spaces, including those experiencing homelessness or precarious housing, and those facing addiction and mental health challenges, can receive on-site legal information in navigating their legal questions. We provide clear, compassionate guidance to help you better understand your rights and options. The objective of CLIP is to overcome the significant barriers this population faces in accessing justice. We see our work as a crucial first step in empowering people to confidently navigate the legal system.
